Abstract

The verse Amānat (verse 72 of Surah al-Azāb) is one of the deep and mysterious verses that have been discussed in various interpretations. In mystical texts, both verse and prose, in explaining the fundamental ideas of Islamic mysticism, this verse has attracted the attention of Islamic mystics. They have always tried to discover this heavenly concept with their beautiful and deep interpretations. The problem of the present research is what meanings the mystical interpretations have provided from this verse. This article collects mystical views and explains them descriptively and analytically. There are examples for it in the exegetical and mystical texts; and according to the method of esoteric interpretation, examples such as love, knowledge, religious duties, guardianship and the like have been considered examples of trust (Amānah). Most of these texts rely more on mentioning examples of trust; and sometimes they have dealt with matters related to divine trust including the reason for the acceptance of man, the rejection of the heavens and the earth and the like. Various interpretations have been expressed on this noble verse and example. Most of the commentators consider trust to be a talent, trait or belief that Allah has deposited in the human heart. In the Shia commentary texts, comparing to other examples, the example of "Wilayah and Reality of Religion" mentioned more. In Sunni interpretations, the example of "Religious Duties" is the most emphasized. This article is an effort to find multiple interpretations of "Amānah" and the comprehensive aspect among the interpretations.
