Investigating The Rijali Role of Shaykh Al-Ṭūsī In the Rijāl of Imamiyyah

Abstract

Shaykh al-Ṭūsī was one of the 5th century polymath scholars and has been the most influential Rijālī scholar of Shiite. Reflecting on history of Rijāl and also the works and opinions of contemporary and late Rijālī scholars shows the authority of Sheikh's Rijālī thought until today. With the question that ‘What is the Rijālī role of Shaykh al-Ṭūsī in Rijāl of Imāmiyya?’, future research has been trying, using the analytical and library method, to prove his influence in all ages until today. In this article, we have reviewed the republishing of Rijālī opinions and works of Shaykh in important and authentic Rijālī works of Shiʿa; and we have tried to show the role and influence of Rijālī thoughts of Shaykh in the famous Rijālī compositions of Imāmiyya until today; therefore, the findings of the article were as follows:

The review of the shaykh's Asānīd and Turuq is mentioned in 23 books.
Shaykh's Rijālī method has been reviewed in 3 books.
Shaykh's opinions, works and methods have been examined, criticized and analyzed in 10 books.
Shaykh's Rijālī books are described in 10 cases or the description of his Rijālī books has been analyzed.
In 6 cases, the work itself is quoted.
In 8 cases, the content or structure has been imitated.
